Lately Sadie has been very tender hearted with a lot on her mind. I just wanted to document some of the experiences we have had lately.
Prayer and the Holy Ghost
Sadie's great Grandma Jeppsen passed away this last month. When she heard the news she was heart broken and we cried together. We then talked about how Grandma is in Heaven now and how happy she must be to be with her family members on the other side.
The next day Sadie was sitting on the couch in deep meditation and I asked her what she was doing. She said she was praying that Heavenly Father would help the people that were sad when grandma died to be happy.
After the funeral I asked Sadie how her day was. She said it was really good and not because she got everything she wanted. (She got to go visit both of her grandma's). She said that the whole day she felt happy and could feel the Holy Ghost all around her like it was giving her a big hug.
Marry Sawyer
While we were driving to an appointment Sadie asked me if she was going to marry Sawyer. I told her no and she said why not if I marry him then I can take care of him when he gets older. I explained to her that we don't marry our siblings, but she can still help take care of Sawyer when she is older. Then she told me "mom I think I will be Sawyer's mom when I grow up. That is what Jesus wants me to do". Then she went on to tell me that she could save her money now so that when Sawyer needs to go to the doctor she will be able to pay for it. I explained that mom and dad will make sure that Sawyer has all the money he needs to be taken care of and she doesn't need to worry about paying for his things when he gets older, but she can still be his mom and take care of him.
Helping Others
Sadie was telling me that she really likes to help other people. I told her that she got that from her dad, because he always likes to help others. Then she asked me "mom, what can I do to help you?"
I had to laugh because there is not a day that goes by that I don't hear those words come out of her dads mouth. I am so grateful for the example Ben is to our children. He serves constantly and loves to help others.
To be like mom
Sadie told me "mom I want to teach my kids all the things you have taught me" and I asked her what are those things. She told me like how to make Mac n Cheese and how to be nice to others. Later I was deep in thought about the problems I was having with the children being sick and how I can help them feel better. Sadie came to me and asked what is wrong. I told her I wanted to help the kids feel better and I wasn't sure what to do. She told me mom I can help you know what you can do. You can pray to Heavenly Father and ask Him what you need to do to help us kids feel better. I then asked her is that something I taught you to do? She replied with no mom I am teaching you how to pray. I am glad I have her to teach me!

12 months of Dates
For Ben's Birthday I gave him a package with 12 months of dates. All of the dates are paid for with gift certificates or purchases ticket. I wasn't about to pay full price for any of them so I took my coupon book and revolved our dates around things that I had coupons for.
We started off by going to the Movie Grill in Ogden. It was nice to have dinner and a movie at the same time. Sadie joined us for our second date at Toads. We played arcades and miniature golf. As you can see Sadie was really excited when she got a hole in one.
Happy Birthday Spencer #3
Lovin his Thomas!
Spencer was in awe at his birthday cake this year. He just sat and
stared for the first while then he sang "I love to see the Temple".
Some of Spencer's favorite things are the color yellow, anything hot, trains, the temple, and church. This year for his birthday he got a Thomas the train happy birthday balloon with several yellow balloons, a temple birthday cake with hot trick candles, and the inside of the cake was yellow. Before we sang happy birthday we sang "I Love to see the Temple".
Sawyer loving life
This year Sawyer has learned to walk down the stairs at our house. He is finally big enough to grab the rail for support.
Sawyer loves to hang out in Spencer's bed with his favorite things.
This is how we make use of the stools in the kitchen. He sets up his Scout puppies and gets them playing the same songs at the same time. Then he plays his primary music on his Ipad. Whenever we learn a new primary song he comes home and will play it all week on his Ipad.
He also loves taking his PODD book and finding the pages on his Ipad. Sawyer has been sick and has missed a lot of church lately. He was not very happy when the other kids went to church and he had to stay at home with mom. He kept asking for Sister Goddard the chorister and his friends at church.
Sawyer's Surgery
My poor little Sawyer finally got his tonsils, adenoids, and saliva
glands removed. He has chronic sore throats and excess saliva. Doctor
Muntz decided to do all the procedures at once. Before all of the ENT
stuff Dr. Harnsberger did an upper GI scope and some biopsies on his
intestinal track. Dr. Harnsberger had great news for us. Everything
looked great which means we can continue with the gluten in his diet.
The nurses put little ears on his head and tied a knot at the top. It reminded us of the boy in the book "Where the Wild things are".
It was so sad when he woke up he couldn't make any sound and was
helpless. He just had tears running down his cheeks. It was so hard for
me to stay strong when I knew he was in pain.
These are the drains they put in to help drain his saliva glands. After we got him comfortable, he used his communication device to ask for a drink. I gave him his favorite drink and he told me "different, yucky". I am sure it was pretty nasty considering he was most likely swallowing dry blood. When I ordered an omelet for myself I was sure he wouldn't be interested, but he told me otherwise. He asked for scrambled eggs and then proceeded to beg for my food. I gave him some and he kept telling yummy. I am so grateful for the opportunity Sawyer has to communicate. He is progressing so well using his communication device. It makes me so happy to know that he can express himself just like any other child.

Ben and Sadie enjoyed there annual breakfast at Jeremiah's for their birthdays!
Sadie went to Fat Cats with some of her friends to play arcades and ride some bumper cars.

Growing up!
This sweet little child is growing up. He likes to find fun things to do like cut the couch when mom is trying to take a nap. Good thing this mom knows a little bit about sewing. He is also potty trained just in time for the new baby to come. He already loves his little sister. He gives my belly more hugs and kisses than me. Every day he tells the baby to come out and I have to explain that she has to get bigger before she can come out.
Chore Chart
Things are a little cleaner here at the Jeppsen house. I broke down and decided I needed more help with the house work and who better to help then my sweet kids. Sadie earns money every week for her chore chart. She has three separate jars one for tithing, savings, and spending. It is fun to see her understand the importance of work.
The other day Sadie told me "mom, I think I am going to be a really good mom". I asked her why she thought that and she said because I will teach my kids all the things you have taught me. I asked her what that is and she said how to make mac n cheese, how to do chores, and how to be nice.
Later that night she told me mom I understand when you are tired and ornery, because you are growing a baby in your belly. Sometimes I feel that way, but I know how to help you. Tell me what's wrong and I told her sometimes I don't know how to fix all my kids health problems (constipation). She proceeded to tell me all you need to do is say a pray and ask Heavenly Father to help you know what to do to help your kids. So I asked her did I teach you to pray too and she said no mom I am teaching you that. Love her!!!
Tis the Season
The kids had lots of fun decorating the tree this year!

Spencer loves his new train tracks and mom loves them too. It is nice to find something that will occupy him for more then 10 minutes.
Santa Claus
The kids all enjoyed Santa Claus this year. Spencer was a little skeptical till he knew Santa had treats. Sawyer used his Ipad to tell Santa he wanted a new farm puzzle.

Carli helping Sadie get her tooth out. She wanted to try the door knob trick, but changed her mind. Carli proceeded to pull the tooth out using her own hands. I am so glad I have Carli around to help me with all the fun things I just can't build up the courage to do myself.
