While taking Sadie to school we saw this man down the street sitting on his front porch. He looked pretty down and I made the comment to Sadie that he looked depressed. I felt like I should do something for him, but ignored the thought. As I went to go pick up Sadie from school I noticed he was out on his porch again. I again had the impression I should do something for him. When I picked up Sadie she told me she had something to tell me. She said "mom you know that guy that was suppresed (depressed)? I said "ya". She then went on to tell me that she said a prayer for him that he could get better and that he wouldn't hurt anymore. After she said her prayer Heavenly Father told her she should do something for him, but she said she was too far away because she was at school. So I told her we could go give him something. I had somethings laying around for Easter that we put together to give him. Along with a message. We went to his house and Sadie was a little nervous and stood behind me. I told her that he would probably like to see her happy face. So she then stood next to me and when he opened the door she gave him the stuff and said "I just wanted to give this to you". He was very grateful and said thank you.
I asked Sadie how she felt and she said happy. I then explained to hear that she feels happy because she did something Heavenly Father would want her to do.
We are never to young to have the light of Christ and listen to His promptings. I am so grateful for the example Sadie is to me and how willing she is to listen and serve her Father in Heaven.
